What We DoThe Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
is the nation's oldest program to help low-income, unemployed
individuals 55+ receive job training on a path to employment. SCSEP
is administered by the US Dept. of Labor. VANTAGE Aging operates
SCSEP in 38 counties across the state of Ohio, and recently
expanded into Indiana.
Who We're Looking ForAt VANTAGE Aging, we're all about utilizing
learned experiences and transferrable skills to grow our teams. The
Workforce Development Manager for our Cincinnati area is
responsible for a balance of community engagement and
connection-building as well as strategic, administrative program
support. If you like every day to be just a bit different and

role requires regular travel within the greater Cincinnati
Region.
Responsibilities:Managerial Tasks:
- Responsible for running the Cincinnati office through the
distribution of administrative responsibilities to staff
participants. Includes learning, understanding and ensuring
compliance with the SCSEP Administrative Procedures Manual. Will
select, train and supervise staff participants in the office.
- Learn and master our computer applications including CRM,
Paycor, and Office 365. Be capable of training staff participants
in all aspects of the computer required to successfully manage the
office.
- Appropriately identify and resolve non-standard situations;
document work activities, prepare accurate and timely reports and
any such administrative reports as may be necessary. Take
independent action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment
and a realistic understanding of issues.Program Recruiting Tasks:
- Identifies sources to recruit participants for the program
- Recruits, evaluates and enrolls participants as needed to meet
goals
- Recruits non-profit host agencies in which to place
participants and ensures that participants are given adequate
orientation including safety reviews
- Promote and market different aspects of the Senior Community
Service Employment Program in the local community as necessary to
achieve project site goals by making presentations, using written
communication material and obtaining media coverage.
- Clearly present information through verbal and written
communication to varied and culturally diverse audiences: promote a
positive image of aging to all segments of the communityStrategic
Program Management:
- Collaborates with other Workforce Development Managers as well
as the SCSEP Director of Regional Operations to ensure best
practices and processes are efficient and effective
- Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the
administration of the program
- Researches and networks within the national SCSEP community to
ensure VANTAGE continues to adapt and grow as the workforce
evolves.Requirements:Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, education, social
sciences, or a related field required; equivalent work experience
will be considered.
- Knowledge of community resources in program's geographic
assignment preferred.
- Microsoft office and database experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience required; supervisory
experience preferred.
- Experience in training, job development, marketing and/or
employment counseling preferred.Required Skills/Abilities:
