The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professors of Sport Administration responsible for: (a) maintaining an active research agenda including publications, presentations, grant writing and/or pursuit of external funding consistent with the Program and University focus on research excellence; (b) teaching a diverse set of undergraduate and graduate courses including online courses; (c) assisting with program growth and development including curriculum and degree planning; and (d) engaging in university, professional, and community service. Based on the Carnegie Foundation Classification System, The University of Cincinnati (www.uc.edu) is a Doctoral Granting Research University with very high research activity (RU/VH). It is part of Ohio's higher education system with approximately 44,700 students in attendance (10,600 graduate students). The Sport Administration Program is located within the School of Human Services in the College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services. The School also includes undergraduate and graduate programs in Health Promotion and Education (Community Health and Exercise), School Psychology, Counseling, and Substance Abuse Counseling. The School is a leader in online course and program development, and there are many active collaborative activities across programs and with community partners. The Sport Administration Program began in 2008 and has experienced continued growth since its inception. The Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration has approximately 325 student majors. The Master of Science in Sport Administration, which focuses on Interscholastic and Intercollegiate Athletic Administration, began in 2015. The Sport Administration Program also launched the online Master's program in 2017. The graduate program has approximately 30 graduate students. Future plans include adding a doctoral degree. Position Qualifications: Successful candidates must have: (a) earned Doctorate (or projected completion by August 15, 2019) in Sport Administration or related field; (b) a clear and active research agenda, including publications, presentations, and experience in grant writing or the potential for external funding; (c) the ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels (both online and on campus), and recruit and provide mentorship to graduate students. Preferred qualifications include: (a) experience with (and/or openness to learning about) online instruction consistent with national quality standards, (b) capability to collaborate with colleagues in Sport Administration and related programs, (c) ability to teach a diverse set of classes at the graduate and undergraduate level, (d) prior sport industry experience and/or experience collaborating with sport industry partners.
