Job Description:

Overview This position must have an eye for detail that plans, schedules and manages the installation and maintenance of all construction projects, park facilities, landscape department, paint, sign shop, maintenance team, and other related park departments. Performs related administrative, supervisory, and technical duties to include budgeting, scheduling and managing projects from conception through completion. Serves as point of contact for all vendors, contractors, and other outside contacts for all park project. Supervises and review the work of subordinate managerial and support staff. Qualifications Some college preferred. Minimum 6-10 years related experience all types of construction and maintenance projects including commercial, retail and restaurant or a school equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Themed amusement park experience a plus. At least 18 years of age. Drivers license required. Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law. Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law. Required to wear personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime. Responsibilities Develop and implement construction plans and contacts that clearly define project goals and strategies needed to reach the objectives for Kings Island on construction projects to include budgets and schedules from the conceptual phase through completion. Assist in contract negotiations with contractors, ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness for the company. Provide direction and leadership to contractors. Coordinate and accompany representatives of agencies conducting inspections of construction. Ensure that construction and contractor policies and procedures are implemented and followed. Attend meetings and make presentations to staff and others as required. Follow established accounting procedures for documentation of purchases and expenses. Prepare accurate cost analysis of construction projects and forecast accurate project completion dates. Prepare operating plan and budget for areas of responsibility. Monitor and take action to ensure operation remains within guidelines of the budget. Assist in the development of a long range strategic quality construction plan that is coordinated between Cedar Fair Planning and Design and Kings Island Staff. Interface with park staff in developing sound construction strategies that work toward achieving overall goals. Assist in representing and serving as company liaison for Kings Island construction interest to corporate, federal, state and local legislative and regulatory bodies. Ensure required record keeping, documentation and report requirements are met and maintained. Select, train, direct, schedule, evaluate and discipline Facilities and Landscape staff and maintain appropriate documentation. Provide direction and leadership to the construction and facilities associates by implanting company programs, policies and procedures. Provide subordinates with necessary information and tools to effectively perform their duties. Establish and maintain a professional and motivated staff through effective implementation of performance and career development programs. Research and evaluate modern trends in construction and make recommendations to implement where necessary. Develop, implement and evaluate quality-assurance measures on projects and ensure appropriate follow-up on execution. Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
