York Street Fresh Foods is a Food Service establishment that provides ready to eat meals and catering platters to clients throughout the Midwest. We have a 30,000 sq. ft. facility, completely refrigerated to maintain proper temperature controls for food safety purposes. Ready to join our team?!

We are seeking a motivated individual to join us! As a Quality/Food Safety Manager, you will be responsible for QA daily inspection, supporting in the production floor, performing routine audits during any process in the manufacturing area, sampling as needed for all actives and inactives, packaging components and further in-process sampling for intermediates, finished bulk and finished packaged products for all products. Provides support to the Quality department on all projects and daily tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:
Aid in all HACCP/USDA/SQF Food Safety Guidelines in production
Responsible for all HACCP documentation for Production and the Kitchen
Handles all proper documentation of all YSC HACCP plan
Participates in all audits to include leading the audits
Assist in all direct observation quality trainings
Scheduling Training for all new/existing employees with Human Resources
Instructs Quality Team Members in Training for Food Safety Basics for new/existing employees
Assists Nutritional department with R&D of all new menu items
Supports in return policy of all products from Transportation (includes proper documentation and evaluation of returned product)
Aids in scheduling of all shelf life studies for new menu items
Educates and instructs plant personnel in recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation and housekeeping practices. Confirms these procedures are being maintained
Consults with plant management and personnel on better operational procedures to advance overall quality
Performs other related duties as assigned by management

You must:
Certified in HACCP
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
Have 3-5 years of Quality Assurance/ Food Safety experience in a cGMP facility. General Quality Assurance experience will also be considered. Prior experience in federal regulations governing Dietary Supplement manufacturing, labeling and safety. Experience with computer data entry required.
