them with a trained survivor who has been there - ensuring that no

community.Position OverviewThe Executive Director is a visionary
leader responsible for driving the mission of Friend for Life. You
will combine strategic oversight with hands-on operational
management-leading fundraising campaigns, managing daily programs,
and nurturing key community relationships. This role is perfect for
a dynamic, compassionate, and innovative leader with strong
business acumen who is ready to guide our organization to new
heights.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic Vision Develop
and execute the organization's strategic plan in partnership with
the Board of Directors, ensuring every initiative aligns with our
mission. Serve as the chief ambassador, representing Friend for
Life to support seekers, volunteers, donors, healthcare
professionals, community partners, and the media.Program &
Operations Management Oversee day-to-day operations-including
intake conversations with support seekers and maintaining our
comprehensive database-to ensure the highest quality of service.
Recruit, screen, and train Peer Navigators (cancer survivors and
caregivers) using best practices in volunteer
engagement.Fundraising & Financial Stewardship Organize and lead
fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement initiatives to
secure donations, sponsorships, and funds. Collaborate with the
team and leverage event software to implement innovative
fundraising strategies. Prepare grant proposals and manage donor
relations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.Board
and Team Engagement Act as the primary liaison between staff and
the Board of Directors, providing monthly updates and fostering
transparent, effective communication. Supervise the Assistant
Director and other staff members, promoting a collaborative and
inclusive organizational culture.Community Outreach & Advocacy
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with cancer care
providers, community organizations, and local networks. Advocate
for enhanced cancer support services and champion our mission
throughout the community.Flexibility & Availability Maintain a
flexible schedule that accommodates regular hours as well as
evening and weekend engagements, ensuring responsiveness to the
needs of those we serve.Qualifications Passion for the Mission: A
deep commitment to supporting cancer patients, survivors, and
caregivers. Core Competencies: Strong business acumen combined with
compassion, innovation, and flexibility. Emotional intelligence and
maturity (ability to have difficult conversations with individuals
going through emotional, physical and spiritual upheaval; comfort
talking about loss and end-of-life issues). Communication:
Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills, with
the ability to engage effectively with a diverse team and a Board
of Directors. Finances & Fundraising: Financial stewardship:
responsible budget planning and management. Demonstrated success in
raising funds through any/all of the following: event planning;
donor relations; grant-writing. Experience: Proven leadership in a
senior role within a nonprofit organization or equivalent business
management experience; volunteer management is a plus. Education:
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or equivalent
experience preferred.Compensation Annual salary for part-time
(approximately 32 hours a week) - $45,000 to $55,000 starting,
commensurate with experience. Flexible scheduling and hybrid work
