bold team. ? Position Overview The purpose of the OPEX program is
to drive IMPACT to our four strategic imperatives: Quality,
Customer, People and Value.? The Director of Operational Excellence
is responsible for driving and maintaining the Operational
Excellence program (OPEX) at the Cincinnati manufacturing facility.
Leads the OPEX site team using the OPEX philosophy and builds a
critical mass of experienced process improvement leaders to enhance
the organization?s ability to challenge process improvement
techniques in all levels and functions of the plant.? ?This
position is a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT). This
position is responsible for the support, facilitation and
coordination of plant wide OPEX program. This position will
develop, monitor and lead the implementation of sustainable OPEX
processes and procedures that improve process control, reduce
variation and improve standardization and performance tracking
through 5S, Standard Work, Visual Controls, Accountability Boards
and Structured Problem Solving across the Allergan Cincinnati
facility.? Ownership of OPEX is maintained in each department, by
the functional director, manager, supervisor and direct personnel.
??As part of the SLT, the position will also take an active role in
overall site leadership across all functions, supporting and
contributing to the site direction and key decisions.?Main Areas of
Provide direction and structure for the OPEX program at the
Cincinnati facility.Drive the boundaries of what can be achieved
and highlight/remove roadblocks to success. Ensure sustainability
of the OPEX process is a key focus. All OPEX activities/actions
requiring repeated execution are to be clearly defined both for
activity detail, ownership and sustainability mechanism.Quality is
one of the four Strategic Imperatives for Global Operations and is
inherent in everything we do, including the OPEX program.
Establishes and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
(Business Leaders, Plant Managers, Function Managers, etc.) for
communication of OPEX goals, processes and achievements. Leverage
OPEX principles to assist in the design and execution of new
manufacturing processes, methodologies and equipment layouts to
improve overall equipment effectiveness.Works in concert with Human
Resources to provide leadership development and to enhance direct
labor recruitingManage and report the financial results of OPEX
executionEnsure the consistent and uniform application of the OPEX
tools across the site with an agreed standard.Standardization of
processes is to be evaluated and achieved where possibleEnsure the
consistent and uniform application of the OPEX tools across the
site with an agreed to standard.Training is to be standardized and
clearly documented across shifts Ensure and deliver on-going OPEX
education of all employees at the plant site level and maintain a
minimum level of trained Green Belts per the OPEX strategy. ?Best
practice" methods, processes and ideas are documented and shared
with other manufacturing facilities to drive continuous
improvements in all aspects of manufacturing. This position is to
work with the Corporate OPEX management to ensure global alignment
on OPEX strategy and implementation.Lead the OPEX Site Steering
Team, and maintain involvement as necessary in the individual
Department OPEX and 5S teamsEstablish and support the process, time
frame, and criteria for the rollout of each tool. (5S, Standard
Work, Visual Controls, Accountability boards) , Identify key
program milestones. Provide the creative force for the OPEX
Cincinnati program, ensuring it has a strong visual component.
- Three to 5 (3-5) years of experience in supervision.
- At least 5 (5) years? experience in Operations and/or
Continuous Improvement in a cGMP environment.
- Working knowledge of current pharmaceutical production
technologies, quality control procedures, and regulatory
- Green Belt Certification.?
- Demonstratedproject management skills and ability to influence
others effectively.?Strong results orientation with follow-up
- Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and the
ability to learn relevant internal computer systems.???Demonstrated
process thinking skills and familiarity with knowledge management.?
Strong knowledge of OPEX Manufacturing principles including 5S,
Standard Work, Visual Controls, Accountability Boards and
Structured Problem Solving.? Experience with effective change
management.Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and a
familiarity with sterile manufacturing processes under cGMP and QSR
guidance ??Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with SAP or similar
enterprise wide systems is a plus.
- A Six Sigma Black belt or Master Black belt certification is
- Bachelor?s degree in Business or related field.
- Master?s Degree preferred
