Description:DEPARTMENT\: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical CenterSUPERVISOR'S TITLE\: Unit Clinical Manager; Respiratory Care Senior Clinical DirectorTITLES SUPERVISED\: N/ATOTAL NUMBER OF FTE's DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY SUPERVISED\: 0PURPOSE OF POSITION\: To function as a professional respiratory therapist and able to apply theoretical knowledge to the care of infant child; adolescent and adult patients and clients. To demonstrate competence in Respiratory Care skills; problem solving; critical thinking and priority setting. To recognize the need for professional growth and to take appropriate steps towards meeting educational needsREPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES--AssessmentAssesses patients, clients and families and recognizes normal parameters, deviations and abnormalities in physical, emotional, developmental and behavioral status as it relates to cardio-pulmonary needs using a family centered approach to care, plans and prioritizes care to meet patient, client and family needs--Plan of CareDemonstrates competence in the implementation of the technical skills required for the care of the patients, clients and families according to CCHMC policies, procedures and standards. Identifies goals and outcomes for health with the patient, client and family. Directs interventions towards the attainment of goals and outcomes as it relates to cardio pulmonary health. Evaluates effectiveness of care. Demonstrates critical thinking by making appropriate care decisions and relating that information to the healthcare team. Implement the standards of the patient care and access. Demonstrate compliance with established practices in documentation of care.--Evidence Based Practice and ResearchDemonstrate awareness of the value of research and evidence based practice in respiratory care.--LeadershipShare leadership responsibilities in teamwork and care delivery. Function as a leader and work collaboratively and interdependently with health team members.--Serving as an Expert ResourceDemonstrate competence in department specific knowledge, skills and behaviors.
