Job Overview: The Employee Health Clinical Lead is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for a superior employee health experience. Key responsibilities include: Oversees new hire health screenings, employee wellness programming, return to work, vaccination programs and medical case management (FML Workers' Compensation), and fitness for duty programs. Oversees evaluation and case management of injured workers and related OSHA reporting responsibilities. Oversees the planning, organizing, communication, and implementation of occupational health initiatives, including business plans for staffing & technology enhancements . Collaborates with Infection Prevention, Safety and Nursing leadership to ensure JCAHO compliance and reporting as well as initiatives related to employee safety and well-being. Responsible for overall management of team members performance and development. Sets and ensures department meets budgetary and financial targets. Proactively identifies and drive opportunities for increase process and people productivity. Supports and proactively participates with team leader in promoting innovation and excellence in clinical, service and team performanceThe Sr Manager and Advanced Practice Provider may perform the following duties:Leadership & strategic vision TeamProactively partners with Team lead for setting and executing the strategy for the employee health department's vision of a superior occupational health experience. Responsible for professional development of department team members, including performance, goal setting and coaching for corrective as needed.Responsible for setting and maintaining department goals & budgetResponsible for monitoring performance of department processes; assess and recommend changes as needed for optimal efficiency and performance of department; oversees implementation of process recommendations.Participate in hospital committee work within The Christ Hospital Health Network; specifically employee safety and wellnessWork with hospital leadership and physician leadership to establish process/practice changes where applicable.Clinical Responsibilities: Oversee the review of the health history of newly hired employees to include present and past medical history, ensuring adequate and timely medical clearance is achieved for new hires to perform the essential job duties of the position. Ensure appropriate care is procured for the injured/ill employee in collaboration with the collaborating physician, when necessary, and as directed by the delineation of privileges where applicable. Communicate with injured/ill employee, physician, manager, employee relations and workers compensation carrier to enable the employee to reach his/her optimal health status and a timely return to work. Demonstrate clinical assessment skills necessary to make pertinent and accurate medical assessments Oversee the development and implementation of initial and follow up plan of care for the management of presenting injury/illness. Provide interpretation of necessary laboratory and radiographic data for incorporation into the patient data base and progress evaluation. Prescribe medications and therapeutic devices as delineated by licensure and privilegesCollaborate with members of the human resources team as necessary to ensure efficient and effective processes.Make appropriate referrals to other health care team members in a timely manner.Perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, as well as specialty specific procedures as defined in the standard care arrangement and the delineation of privileges where applicable?Refer patients to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment when necessary. Employee Health / Disability Management Responsible for oversight of the administration of the Workers' Compensation, Medical Leave of Absence & Short-Term Disability programs including regulatory and internal reportingProvide oversite to RN case managers for Workers' Compensation and medical leave case management, short term and long-term disability.Provide clinical oversight to clinical staff for operational and medical surveillance requirements. Provide education and training to clinical staff.Provide oversite to RN case managers for the modified duty program Education: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: Graduate from accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Specialist program with a Master's Degree.Licenses and Certifications: Certified Nurse Practitioner: Acute, Adult, Adult-Gero or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification, or Certified Nurse Specialist certification verified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)Current, valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state boardDEA licenseBLS Certified, ACLS preferred for inpatientStandard Care Arrangement with collaborating physician for Ohio or applicable statePrescribing Agreements (if appropriate) for KentuckyMembership in professional organizations is desirableRegistered Nurse in OHCertified NPExperience: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: 5 plus years minimum experience as a Registered Nurse preferred. 7 plus experience in occupational health, employee health, Workers' Compensation and regulatory agency requirements, short term disability and knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act. Required Skills & Knowledge: Experience leading and developing a team, providing coaching/counseling, monitoring and implementing process improvement strategies. The APP demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide culturally specific patient care and education.The APP effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication and maintains confidentiality.The APP demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth.The APP demonstrates the ability accept and implement change and the ability to work in a culturally diverse setting.The APP demonstrates leadership behavioral competencies
