Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pulmonary Intermediate PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Active Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: Proficient in cardiac monitoring IV therapy including PICC line management and dressing changes Administration of IV medications including antibiotics and drips Tracheostomy management Intermediate/step down experience Description: No block scheduling or travel pairs. The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Pulmonary Intermediate PCU. This unit has a total of 21 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are generally 4:1 and can go up to 5:1, with 3:1 for BiPAP teams. Equipment used includes BiPAPs, high flow devices, telemetry monitoring, and occasional cardiac drips. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. The ideal candidate should be proficient with BiPAPs and high flow devices. Experience with chest tubes and pulmonary disease management is preferred. The patient population is diverse, requiring flexibility and adaptability. A positive attitude and excellent critical thinking skills in stressful situations are essential. A good sense of humor is valued to help build rapport with patients and team members. Dress code includes galaxy blue tops and blue or black bottoms. General professionalism is expected.
