Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele role with strong ortho experience and dysrhythmia testing required. Responsibilities - Work on a 30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit specializing in orthopedic surgical cases, including total joint replacements, TIA, and stroke workups - Care for medical-surgical and orthopedic post-op patients with a variety of drips such as Lasix and Heparin - Utilize specialized equipment including wound vacs, JP drains, colostomies, nephrostomy tubes, NG tubes, rectal tubes, suprapubic catheters, gtubes, jtubes, and central lines - Oxygen modalities used include nasal cannula, high flow cannula, Bipap (night only), non rebreather, venturi mask, and capnography with PCA pumps - Support staff includes PCTs and health unit coordinators - 12-hour night shifts required - Responsibilities include complex assessment, medication administration, and multidisciplinary care planning for adult Med/Surg Tele and ortho patients - Frequent use of specialized lines/drains and multiple oxygen delivery methods - Daily collaboration with a team including PCTs and unit clerical staff - Candidates will receive an EKG study guide prior to on-site testing - Orientation and EPIC training provided as needed - Must cover required holidays as scheduled Requirements - Active OH or compact RN license required - Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required - Strong orthopedic nursing experience required - Must pass a dysrhythmia/EKG exam on first day (study guide provided, 2 attempts allowed) - Minimum 1 year of RN experience required - Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from facility Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627744.
