Job Description SummaryThe Advanced Lead - Embedded Software
Development Quality Assurance and Process Auditing Engineer will be
assigned to US based GE Engine Programs. You will collaborate with
control and software systems, and control and software engineers to
define quality plans, quality improvement implementations, quality
program status and tracking, and lead and execute quality reviews
on a global team. You will draw from a breadth of quality sources
across commercial and military programs to improve embedded engines
software development quality and drive safety and quality related
process improvements.
The Advanced Lead - Embedded Software Development Quality Assurance
and Process Auditing Engineer will lead local and global engineers
through an increased focus on training, technical leadership in the
quality domain, mentoring, and program management with an emphasis
on tracking and improving quality and safety key performance
indicators. Additionally, as part of the broader mission of the
Product Lifecycle Configuration and Management organization, you
will work to enable team members to elevate safety and quality
first and uphold the commitment to stewardship of regulatory
compliance.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Monitor the development process for embedded control system
software and ensure the correct process is followed
- Execute with limited guidance the analysis/evaluation of the
controls software development process for assigned programs and
ensure they meet business standards, compliance practices and
procedures, and the product/program requirements
- Recommend the approach for meeting the technical quality and
program requirements
- Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical quality
requirements, schedules and contract commitments
- Identify non-compliances, develop corrective action plans, and
monitor corrective actions to completion
- Perform root cause analysis of non-compliances to determine
preventative improvements
- Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned
teams; mentor others in the organization
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the
assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies
and procedures
- Lead, Measure, monitor and communicate project status, business
issues and significant developments
- Present or review technical and program work as needed
- Develop a standard of work for completing audits and a standard
method for reporting progressRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics, or Computer Science
- At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering
position
- Must be a US Citizen and must have the ability to obtain and
maintain a government security clearanceDesired Characteristics
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering
tools and systems
- Embedded Controls Experience
- Knowledge of DO-178, DO-254, MIL-HDBK-516C, and other
regulatory compliance specifications
- Data analytics proficiency
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Experience with Lean or process improvement initiatives
- Experience in leading a team or work group in
technical/financial/project objectives
- High level of integrity and a compliance mind-setThis role is
