Job Description:
Milacron is looking for a *Software Development Manager *to join
our team in *Batavia, Ohio*. Leading a team of software development
engineers, this person will be responsible for leading the
execution of our New Product Development (NPD) activities in
Machine Controls. Primary responsibilities include: Drive NPD
execution to meet expectations for software release timing and
quality; Create resource and timing plans for NPD projects; Ensure
customer requirements are translated to software requirements and
are documented; Institute Agile processes and align to Stage Gate

you'll do*:* Plan the Software Development portion of NPD projects.
This includes resource needs and timing.* Partner with Product
Management, Project Management, and other engineering functions to
understand customer requirements. Then translate/document those
requirements for Software Development.* Direct and coach
engineers.* Continuously review department capacity/demand and make
resource adjustments as needed.* Identify outside partners and
establish processes to utilize them.* Develop and implement
department policies and standards.* Develop, track and report on
department KPI's.* Develop processes/procedures/tools to increase
department efficiency.* Create and maintain software tools that are
in use throughout the company.* Work with marketing/product
managers to define and implement new features/content into existing
products.*Basic Requirements: * - Bachelor's in Engineering,
Mechatronics, or similar degree. - 10+ years of software
engineering experience - 5+ years in successful people management.
- Must have history of leading successful NPD launches. -
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams in successful
engineering execution of complex machine systems. - Passion for
learning, problem solving, and continuous improvement. - Solid
understanding of PLC-based hardware and software development for
machine controls. - General knowledge of manufacturing processes
(plastic processing preferred) - Demonstrated skills to coach for
performance. - Ability to work cross-culturally. - Practical
experience with specifying or designing GUI for Industrial
Controls. - Must have excellent verbal and written communication
skills. - Familiarity with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS). -
Strong Systems aptitude for Electro/Hydro/Mechanical Motion
Control. - Proficient in Software version, revision, configuration
control. - Ability to manage using Agile and Waterfall development
tools.*Great to Haves*: - Familiarity with IEC1131-3 programming
languages. - Familiarity with HTML5. - Understanding of Windows and
Linux operating systems. - Ability to read mechanical drawings and
wiring diagrams. - Familiarity with ANSI B151.1 - Familiarity with
EN201 - Ability to use the following tools:oMicrosoft Visual
