Job Description Position Summary: Supports manufacturing projects by providing and maintaining methods, equipment, tooling and Standards to internal and external specifications. Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to): /n - Basic CNC Programming knowledge /n - Provides support to obtain safe, efficient, productive and economical manufacturing operations. /n - Develops and maintains routings, tool lists, fixtures, process instructions and process requirements, for manufacturing equipment and operations. /n - Develops Work instructions and standard work to document processes and flow. /n - Drives out waste from manufacturing operations through the deployment of lean and CBS methodology. /n - Addresses production Andon stoppages and develops counter measures using 5 why methodology. /n - Trains operators on proper, efficient manufacturing methods and procedures, to maximize machine and process productivity. /n - Coordinates the purchase of necessary production materials and tooling. /n - Implements changes to tools and fixtures. /n - Supports new process and product development implementation. /n - Assists with developing and implementing current and future state value stream maps and continuous Improvement plans. /n - Audits and improves existing manufacturing processes. /n - Solves daily manufacturing process problems. /n - Tries out experimental commercial tooling. /n - Simplifies the methods/tooling and therefore reduces cycle times and W.I.P. /n - Improves area equipment layouts and material flow. /n - Assists operators with daily assembly problems with equipment, methods and tooling. /n - Assists in justifying and coordinating the installation of capital equipment. /n - Participates actively in the Continuous Improvement and Quality processes including project team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities. /n - Performs other duties as required. /n /n Essential Qualifications / Experience: /n - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. /n - Experience with Microsoft Office products /n - CAD/CAM experience preferred. /n - Solid working knowledge of product line and manufacturing processes. /n - Solid tooling application knowledge. /n - Availability to travel routinely to various North American manufacturing locations /n - B.S. in Engineering. /n /n This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
