The sustaining engineering team is responsible for design changes
for medical device products such as hospital beds and equipment
after it is released to production. - The engineering design
changes may be related to design improvements, new compliance
requirements, or supply chain support. - As an electrical engineer
on the team, you will be responsible for performing design analysis
and engineering release for small to medium projects or designated
segments of larger complex projects. - The projects will primarily
involve electronic and electromechanical design and development but
may also include labeling, documentation, or other more general
product updates.Some activities for this role may include the
following:--- Investigate, analyze, and develop innovative
solutions for complex technical problems.--- Apply new technical
tools and concepts as needed with support from other team
members.--- Implement design changes for electronic and
electro-mechanical components, power supplies, electrical
sub-assemblies, and product assemblies using our product release
process.--- Generate feasibility assessment, product risk
documentation, DFMEA, engineering requirements, and cost
estimates.--- Lead cross functional project planning sessions to
develop project schedules using project management tools and work
with various team members to complete engineering design change.---
Manage multiple small projects simultaneously through execution of
project plan.--- Work in a team environment with daily contact with
other engineers, technicians, quality, regulatory, manufacturing,
supply management, and marketing personnel. - Additionally, you may
work with our sales team to support customer requests or work
directly with customers.--- Share technical knowledge with others
on the team--- Apply new technical tools and concepts under the
direction of others.--- Challenge project teams and established
work processes and proactively find creative methods to reach
desired performance levels--- Inform others proactively about
developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to
meet commitments.--- Seek input from more experienced individuals
to improve quality of deliverablesQualifications: - --- Bachelor's
Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering or Electrical
Engineering Technology)--- 2-4 years of experience in similar
role--- Strong organization and communication skills--- Proficient
problem-solving skills--- Adaptable to changing priorities---
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work
collaboratively with othersDESIRED EXPERIENCE--- Experience
designing digital control circuits--- Experience designing analog
circuits--- Experience designing power supplies/battery backup
circuits--- Experience designing embedded systems/control theory---
Experience designing network interfaces--- Experience designing
electronics for mid to high volume production--- Experience
designing for EMC--- Experience designing to IEC60601 medical
safety standards--- Experience using circuit analysis software---
Ability to read, generate, and interpret schematics--- Working
knowledge of Microsoft Office and Engineering software---
Experience in the medical device industry is preferred---
Experience with project management methods and tools is
