Job Description:

DescriptionThis position reports through Humana's Pharmacy Supply Chain and Inventory Planning team and performs various inventory planning, order placement, order expediting, relationship management and financial related tasks in support of Humana's Pharmacy distribution operations. This person will need to be able to work independently, cross-functionally and use different systems or tools to communicate with pharmacy operations team members and suppliers in performance of the role. This person may need to complete data retrieval and analysis, cost of goods financial modeling, report development and formulation / communication of recommendations based upon the data.ResponsibilitiesForecast product usage and changes to primary suppliers to ensure inventory availabilitySubmit product orders to suppliers to adhere to designated minimum & maximum inventory levelsReview supplier order status to ensure inventory availability and expedite orders as necessaryUpdate required minimum & maximum product inventory levels on a monthly basisAdhere to supplier contractual inventory level requirementsReview & update on-demand product inventory level status on a monthly basisReview inventory level DOH monthly to promptly address excess inventory levelsWork with PSC to identify and utilize alternate suppliers (as necessary) to minimize out-of-stock situationsMinimize expired product and product returns to suppliersReview root causes for out-of-stock and product return situations to implement process improvementsWork with other teams to identify pending volume and product formulary changesAdhere to ordering primary supplier preferred products (i.e. mfr-direct or wholesaler source program products)Timely implementation of product award changes while managing operational and supplier restrictionsMinimize alternate supplier purchases unless due to inventory shortageSend out daily DOH report and communicate MBO concerns to leadership.Manage Specialty's Demand Anticipation Program.Work with various teams to ensure all drugs/supplies that are needed are available.Required QualificationsIntermediate Proficiency in MS Excel and Other Data Mining & Analysis ToolsPharmacy Technician Certification or the ability to obtain one within 12 monthsBachelor's Degree in Business related field or equivalent work experiencePreferred QualificationsInventory Planning System experiencePrior purchasing experiencePharmacy experienceAdditional InformationScheduled Weekly Hours40
