Food Plant Engineering, LLC designs and builds sustainable food production facilities to help feed the world. Our dynamic team is growing, seeking new members who embrace the responsibility for developing hygienic processes and facilities for the safe production of food.We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design piping, plumbing, sewers, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, and steam systems in food manufacturing facilities. This engineer will complete projects by developing initial design concepts, performing calculations, developing specifications, and preparing construction documents using Revit and Autocad for our clients throughout the U.S.We value team members who are curious, willing to pitch in and help where needed, enjoy working on many different types of projects, and have a strong desire to learn and grow. The ideal candidate also enjoys working on many different types of building systems (piping/HVAC/refrigeration) and is familiar with different food manufacturing operations (bakery, meat, dairy). This candidate should also be familiar with various model building codes and standards such as International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, IIAR Standards, and ASHRAE standards.
Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and optimize facility and process utility systems from inception through start-up
• Communicate with clients throughout the project to discuss and review objectives, options, budgets, costs, and schedules
• Visit manufacturing facilities and clients on-site to review infrastructure systems and gather data
• Evaluate existing and proposed building systems and provide input regarding the upgrade or enhancements
• Provide building equipment documentation and specifications
• Provide Revit and Autocad construction documents
• Communicate with contractors to provide knowledge of design intent and resolve design conflicts during construction.
• Respond to building code officials questions and modify designs as required by code officialsRequirements
  • BS degree in Engineering
  • Analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • AutoCad or REVIT skills
