Responsibilities:
Job Summary / PurposeThis position is responsible for health and
welfare benefit management, analysis, administration,
communication, compliance, program coordination and project
management across CommonSpirit Health. Serves as a liaison with
insurance carriers, third party administrators (TPAs), consultants,
system and division groups, HR Support Services and Technology
(HRSST), HR leaders, business partners and the EmployeeCentral
Contact Center. Develops benefits communication materials, plan
documentation, and completes regulatory filings. Provides input to
government and benchmarking surveys.Essential Key Job
ResponsibilitiesCoordinates a variety of benefit projects such as
implementation of new benefits programs and streamlining existing
programs, including developing cost savings analyses of proposed
programs.Acts as a liaison to divisions, HR Support Services and
Technology (HRSST), carriers and TPAs to resolve escalated benefit
plan issues and provides clarification of benefit plan provisions
and corresponding government regulations.Works with carriers, TPAs
and COE management to develop, maintain and provide periodic
benefit plans reports for system and division leaders. Contributes
to discussions of best practices, system-wide issue resolution,
annual renewals, and vendor performance. If service or
communication issues arise, identifies root causes and works with
vendors to develop solutions.Develops, reviews and edits benefits
education and communication materials.Writes and edits benefit plan
documents and compliance materials as needed; assists in fulfilling
benefit plans compliance requirements.Supports acquisitions and
divestitures by serving as a benefits subject matter expert for
implementation efforts and providing employee impact analysis to
all parties.Assesses and monitors effectiveness of current, new or
proposed programs/initiatives and reports financial and employee
impact. Conducts analysis of benefits programs for cost management
and plan design decision-making. Develops measurements and reviews
plans' utilization and performance against benchmarks. -
Qualifications:
Minimum QualificationsRequired Education and Experience -A minimum
of 4 years of progressively responsible employee benefit experience
with health and welfare plans. Bachelor's degree or a combination
of education and/or additional job-related experience in lieu of
the degree. -Required Licensure and CertificationsCEBS preferred,
but not required.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and
TrainingKnowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective
analysis.he ability to determine the root cause of organizational
problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems
in the best interest of the businessIn-depth knowledge of benefit
plan provisions and legal requirements, along with implementation
and enrollment processes.Must have a broad perspective on industry
plans, trends, vendors, administrators, and financing
arrangements.Must have strong knowledge of vendor fee
arrangements.
