The ideal candidate will embrace this culture.General SummaryThe Area Director of Sales reports to the Management Team to maximize hotel revenue through daily management of room inventory and pricing across all segments for up to 5 hotel properties. In this role, you will develop and recommend room rates & availability strategies to optimize the best mix of business through multiple distribution channels. In addition, this position will be responsible as the property's "hands-on" sales professional actively involved on to secure, qualify and follow up on leads to book specific business segments. The position would also be very instrumental in New Hotel Openings and Acquisitions.Must be a strong leader, self-motivator, and mentor to other team members. Remote work is allowed for this position, with occasional travel possibly required to the hotel locations in the Cincinnati/Dayton metro.Revenue: Aggressively pursue revenue goals through solicitation of new corporate accounts, manage leisure group inquiries, and effectively utilize yield management & revenue maximization tools.Work Ethic: Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal & team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive & professional work environment.Training: Analyze service and quality issues, identify training needs, ensure implementation of training programs to optimize results, and adhere to training guidelines & policies.Sales & Marketing: Maintain a sense of urgency to drive revenue, take an active role in the preparation & implementation of each of the hotel's annual Marketing plan, make sales calls to Key accounts, and capitalize on all revenue opportunities.Education/ExperienceMust have completed at least 2 years of hotel experience as a Sales Manager or other hotel management position. IHG, Hilton, and/or Marriott experience preferred.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of revenue & operations strategies to attain and exceed financial goals for the company.
  • Participate in all company and required franchise training and certification programs, including the training of other team members
  • Accurate management of all sales related systems & operating systems for data cleanliness
  • Involved in qualifying and bidding in all Annual RFP processes for National Accounts through brand tools and external RFPs
  • Execute marketing and promotional efforts as directed by the General Manager or Supervisor
  • Fully comply with company accounting, direct billing and purchasing policies and procedures
  • Analyze monthly market segmentation to determine results of efforts and future needs
  • Be familiar with the hotel's demand segments & sources of business for each and balances market segments to achieve RevPAR targets for all business segments
  • Assess the market potential to develop new business opportunities while increasing revenue from existing customers
  • Conduct sales calls to key accounts and potential clients
  • Establish monthly/quarterly sales forecasts alongside Ownership
  • Develop and execute advertising programs targeting specific business accounts
  • Ambassador of the company at Hilton/IHG/Marriott franchise conventions/meetings as required
  • Responsible for booking, confirmations, billings, generating proposals and contracts
  • Maintains and communicates special event information calendar
  • Maintains communication with guests related to key accounts before, during and after stay
  • Maintains database of contacts for repeat and future bookings
  • Ensure follow up on all sales leads
  • Recommend and assist in development of rate and discount/promotional strategies
  • Maintain historical trend analysis for review by Ownership
  • Utilize brand eCommerce and Marketing Tools in coordination with Revenue Management and Operations
  • Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of all business accounts
  • Ensure that the web and third-party electronic distribution channels are continuously reviewed, researched, and updated for maximum hotel exposure and maximum room night generation
  • Identify top 25 travel agent producers per hotel
  • Identify top 25 corporate accounts per hotel
  • Ability to proactively identify and qualify all market demand generators in market including but not limited to corporate accounts, travel agencies, groups, city wide events, and leisure travel.
  • Solicits new and existing clients in order to meet and exceed budgetary sales expectations
  • Gain and maintain excellent knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.
  • Minimizes safety hazards by practicing safety and following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Projects a favorable image of the hotel to the public at all times.
  • Meet and exceed guest and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork.
  • Adheres to all hotel policies and standard operating procedures (SOP's).
